In April 2026 I was invited to give an educational demonstration at the California Blacksmith Association spring conference based on one of the projects from my book. I chose the spoon project because it is brief enough to demonstrate in an hour, simple enough for a beginner but with enough complexity to be engaging, and because the directions are available for free on my website. Many thanks to the audience members who sat through my talk and the blacksmiths who started the project at the open forge right after.
